Before Ben and I went to California a few weeks ago (pictures still to come...), we told Elliot that we were going on an airplane. For some reason, everytime we mentioned it he said something along the lines of, "Mommy Tato crash. Airplane go too fast. Crash." One morning we had the following conversation:
Kourtney: Well boys, tomorrow we are going on an airplane to California.
Elliot: Airplane crash! *Crashing noises*
K: Elliot, why do you keep saying that? We're not going to crash!
Aaron: Well, mom, you might crash. But it is just very unlikely.
I got busted by a taste of my own accuracy! I am usually so careful about my language-- I usually say, "We plan on being back" instead of "We'll be back" or "I'll try my hardest not to die young, Aaron, but you never know." Some might worry about scaring their kids, but I think Aaron gets it. And I just love his above observation. He's right. And I love being corrected by him.
