Obviously I haven't been that into blogging lately. Our life doesn't seem nearly as exciting as it was before we moved to Oklahoma. The fact is, though, that we still do lots of fun things and the kids still manage to grow and be interesting, so I should record it. And this seems as good a place as any, so I will continue.
The last several weeks we have been in Utah, visiting various family members as well as old friends. If you're reading this, you probably already know that my dad was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) a few months ago and has recently decided to forego any further chemotherapy and live what is left of his life to its fullest. So we are here to take part in that and help out as needed. You can read more about his progress and adventures on
my mom's blog. I might guest post on there occasionally but mom is the main poster and does a wonderful job.
Without further ado, here are some pictures from the last few weeks...
We have visited with lots of friends and family. Here are the kids with their Great Grandma Person:
| We love her and her infectious laugh! |
| She gave the boys a stack of books and all of a sudden our rush to get out of the restaurant turned into a leisurely, delightful conversation. I will remember that trick more often: pull out new books after the kids are done eating. |
We have had lots of great cousin time.
| Eating sno cones at the American Fork fair |
Besides the occasional trip to Seven Peaks or a local fair, we mostly have just spent a lot of time hanging out. Mom has a sign in her house that says "Grandma and Grandpa's house: where cousins come to become friends." We have certainly been proving that true.

| Libbie and Penelope hiding in the pantry |
| Benjamin and Maya, three months apart, with their Lambert parents |
| Peek-a-boo! |
| Maya hanging out with a neighbor dog |
| Grandkids gathered around for our July/August birthday party |
| Libbie and Tucker having a blast at the aquarium together |
| Maya got used to other people holding her, and got spoiled by her aunties as a result |
Libbie and Elliot playing with their dog cousin Dexter
They giggled the entire time! |
| We have also been playing lots of cards. Mostly "Up and Down the River," a Lambert tradition/classic |
And of course the cousins wouldn't exist without a bunch of siblings to be their parents.
Sisters
(There's a similar picture somewhere with our brother on the edge but I don't seem to have it right now.) |
And of course none of us would be around if it weren't for these two cuties...
| Some post-haircut love |
We were so glad that all the siblings could come together to celebrate dad and spend some good time with him, hopefully not for the last time.
| Grandpa and Libbie, just after his post-chemo haircut |
| I had to document this shirt. I was born on October 16, 1980, around ten days late. The St. George marathon is always the first weekend in October. So yes, dad was running a marathon when mom was nine months pregnant. Pretty crazy. |
| Dad wants to play his alphorn for the Swiss Days festival on August 31st, so he gets practice in as much as possible, even if he isn't feeling well enough to get out of bed. |
Most of all we just love being with our dad/grandpa!
